1. Textile CraftsThese comprise any type of craft where you work with fabric, yarn or surface design. Some examples are knitting, quilting, patch work,, weaving and dyeing. Many of these could obviously also plunge into the decorative or fashion crafts categories, since the finished good is sold as a sweater or wall hanging. However, they are precisely textile crafts since it all starts with the fabric. 2. Paper CraftsAs the name implies, paper crafts have to do with well – paper! My son got his first introduction to paper crafts in pre-school when he used carved potatoes to hand print designs on a card for Mother’s Day. The grown up version of this is wood engraving. Other paper crafts include papier-mâché, calligraphy, and papermaking3. Decorative CraftsFurniture making, metalwork, stenciling, stained glass, gilding, sponge ware, surface design of walls such as tromped L’Oreal, basketry and dried flowers fall into the category of decorative crafts. Fashion CraftsThis type of crafts encompasses every the elements of dressing the human body: jewelry, hats, leatherwork (shoes, belts, handbags) and garments. This craft type will obviously intersect other craft types since jewelry can be made through metalworking and garments are fabricated by sewing – which can be classified as a textile craft.INDOOR CRAFTS FOR ADULTS .Tin canister luminaries- Choose a pattern or design, draw it onto the metal can, fill with water and let freeze until solid. Tap holes into the shape of the design by driving the tip of a nail into the pattern lines with a hammer, no less than ¼" apart or you will lose the picture or the holes. Discard the ice when finished making the holes. Let the can dry entirely and then decorate the outside as you like.
